AGG Supports proposals to Include Small Artisanal Producers under the Legal Framework for Independent Economic Activity

Chișinău, June 26, 2025 — The Association for Good Governance (AGG) provided expert input to the Alliance of Small and Medium Enterprises from Moldova (AIM) and EcoLocal Association in developing a joint proposal to expand the Law on Independent Economic Activity to include small artisanal and local producers.

The initiative aims to recognize and regulate the economic activity of small-scale producers, artisans, and local food makers, allowing them to operate legally, access simplified taxation schemes, and participate fairly in Moldova’s local markets.

AGG’s team contributed legal expertise and policy analysis to ensure the proposed amendments are consistent with the principles of good governance, fiscal transparency, and European best practices.
By integrating artisanal producers into the independent economic activity framework, the proposal promotes economic inclusion, fair competition, and local entrepreneurship.

This collaboration reinforces AGG’s ongoing mission to advance evidence-based policymaking, participatory dialogue, and legal reforms that support sustainable economic development in Moldova.
